Web Develpment

The Center for Multicultural Education

Thumbnail of cme websiteI am currently employed at The Center for Multicultural Education as their web developer. When I first got hired, the existing site was somewhat visually pleasing. However, the color scheme was a bit plain and the Flash interface offered little accessibility. I kept updating that site for about two years and after a mutual agreement among the directors and myself, we decided to upgrade the site.

The main goals were to make navigating the site easier, facilitate accessibility and create a color scheme that would be visually appealing.

To make the site more accessible, I swapped out the flash interface with plain HTML with a few Flash elements retained for visual appeal. The color scheme was changed over to a more UNI-friendly purple and gold theme. The navigation menu was re-organized and expanded-on to allow people to find what they are looking for more easily.

You can view the new CME website at www.uni.edu/cme.

The Center for Multicultural Education (Old Site)

thumbnail of old cme siteEssentially the same as the current site. The differences are that it has a Flash interface, it has a less colorful theme, and it was very unorganized. Click to view some sample pages of the previous CME website.

UNI Study Abroad

thumbnail of studyabroad swebsiteWhile I was employed at the CME, the Study Abroad department at UNI was in-between web designers and needed some changes made. I stepped in as a temporary webmaster until they found a new one. I pretty much just performed periodic updates.
